Voices from Marco Polo students on their cultural experience in Bangkok, Thailand

    Maeva, France: It is now almost the end of my year in Bangkok, it’s been almost 8 months. I went to Bangkok to do my second year of hotel management school. during these 8 months I visited Bangkok and also travel in Thailand and discover this country. It was my first time outside Europe and in Asia. I found a  very different from my country. I discovered the Buddhism religion and the Asia style of food. It was a good experience to live in a country during few months, like this I could learn about the people, the culture, the way of life and travel around.   Lucie, France:  Bangkok have two faces, the first of a wise capital where modernity and tradition interweave; and the second of a crazy city who never sleeps.   Marie, Belgium: I can say that after all this time leaving in Bangkok, I still have a lot to learn about the diversity of the Thai culture. Designer of the Year 2019′ Award

Instructor’s Profile- Assoc.Prof. Sutee Kunavichayanont

Assoc.Prof. Sutee Kunavichayanont   Sutee Kunavichayanont       Sutee graduated the high school grade 3, the last alumni, and studied art for Vocational Certificate at College of Fine Arts, the Fine Arts Department for 1 year which is the period before 200th anniversary of Rattanakosin. He could pass the admission exam to study in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University where he was counted as the second alumni in 1984. One year later, he entered the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University and received Bachelor of Fine Arts certificate, Printmaking , in 1989. Afterwards, he attended the Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney, Australia, and received the Master of Arts, Visual Arts.     He joined the government service in the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University 1992. Now, he serves as an associate professor and the head of Art of Theory. Apart from being an instructor, he wrote articles about Art in various media such as the column named “Galleria” in Krung Thep Wan Arthit of the Bngkok Business News twice a month and Silpa Wattanatham (Art & Culture) column of the Siamrat Sapdavijarn once a month. Artist Project – Professors of the Year (2017)

You are invited to a seminar entitled “Artworks and Creativity Methods” with 3 artists: Yoshitomo Nara from Japan and Vong Phaophanit & Claire Oboussier from UK.   These 3 artists are internationally renowned and have had a wide range of their artworks displayed. In this activity, they are honored to give a lecture and talk with participants about their unique artistic techniques to exchange their experiences, suggest and give advice on effective art methods and to build inspiration with the participants. This activity was held on 27 February 2017, 9.00-17.00 hours. After the lecture,  the 3 artists attend the opening ceremony of a students exhibition and artist projects. This session was joined by several key international professors at HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Art Gallery.

17th Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS), Showa University, Japan, Held on 18-23 August 2018

 Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) took place under IPSF APRO (International Pharmaceutical Student Federation – Asia Pacific Regional Office) by the pharmaceutical students from 17 countries. The project aimed to discuss topics related to pharmaceutical students, underlying the public health system and the roles of pharmacists in Japan. In other words, this was a meeting which integrated pharmacy and medical science-related topics: pharmaceutical knowledge application to cosmetics, ICT industry in pharmaceutical career and proper antibiotics use. The main feature of the workshop is to provide opportunities to all participants to exchange their their knowledge, their opinions and their diverse and unique cultures.

TTF Award for Outstanding Research in the field of Humanities 2017– Assoc. Prof. Somkid Jiratatsanakul

Assoc. Prof. Somkid Jiratatsanakul received the TTF Award in the field of  Humanities 2017 hosted by Thammasat University in collaboration with Toyota Thailand Foundation with the book named Glossaries of Thai Architects ( Book No. 1-4)
